History of the school

But it was accessible only to the upper castes of the society. It was at the instinct of Sri Kunjikuttan Thampuran (Kerala Vyasan) and Sri Koonezhath ParameswaraMenon that the Kochi Raja RamaVarma started this school. In 1899 A.D the name was modified as Vernacular School. In A.D 1908 it became Kochi Sarkar High School and reached in full swing in 1909 A.D In 1945 A.D the girls from V to X were shifted to the Sathram Padasala (the present GGHSS Kodungallur) near the kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple.
